Mt Stromlo Observatory September Public Night
Mount Stromlo Observatory in conjunction with the Canberra Astronomical Society invite you to September’s public observation night. See the rings of Saturn, the craters of the moon and beautiful star clusters and nebulae. On the night, there will be talks by astronomers from Mt. Stromlo Observatory and observations on several telescopes.

In the event of cloudy weather, star gazing will be cancelled but the talks will occur regardless of the weather. Check the weather using the Mt. Stromlo all-sky camera on their website.

Circus Oz - But Wait There’s More

 

Floriade 2015
Floriade, the national capital’s annual flagship tourism event, is the largest floral festival in the Southern Hemisphere. Each year in September visitors are invited to celebrate the arrival of spring with a 30-day celebration featuring cooking demonstrations, gardening tips, recreational activities for kids and families, entertainment and horticultural workshops all peppered with some high profile celebrities to add some spice.

Set amongst Canberra’s Commonwealth Park on the picturesque shores of Lake Burley Griffin, Floriade’s four-hectare site is filled with over a million blooms in a variety of themed garden beds designed to fit within an overarching theme each year.
