Eclectic. That’s the way to sum up what’s on in Adelaide this month. You’ll find festivals of wine and cabaret, serious rock and strenuous exercise. Still, you can always spend July recovering. Here’s what’s on in Adelaide in June.

McLaren Vale BankSA Sea & Vines Festival
South of the city you’ll find McLaren Vale where the 23rd Sea & Vines Festival takes place over a long weekend of delicious food, gorgeous scenery and (obviously) some of the best wine you’ll have tasted. Events range from winemaker and chef demonstrations to music, tours and family friendly activities.

Adelaide Cabaret Festival
Adelaide’s Cabaret Festival is a biggie. Over two weeks the festival, now in its 15th year, packs in 152 performances of contemporary and classic cabaret.

Among the 350 artists performing are Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Adam (Last Leg) Hills, Alan Brough, Bernadette Robinson, Lady Rizo, Eddie Perfect and the Glen Miller Orchestra with Barry Humphries at the helm. It’s an eclectic programme highlighting the best local, national and international artists – and there’s a great buzz about the Festival Centre when it’s in full swing.

Stadium Stomp
Over the course of these pages we’ve covered hundreds of what’s on events in Adelaide and across Australia – so it’s always good to find something completely different. Filling that category this month, we bring you the Stadium Stomp, an endurance event where individuals or teams climb the steps and aisles of 4 different Australian stadiums.

If you fancy testing your stamina this is for you. As you run you’ll hear professionally mixed tunes to keep you motivated. There are a variety of course difficulty levels so you can tailor the challenge to your level of fitness.

Jebediah – 20th Anniversary Tour
Jebediah, the rockers from Perth, are celebrating their 20th year with a tour. Joining them will be openers including Front End Loader, Fur, Red Jezebel, Turnstyle and Screamfeeder.

They’ll be playing music from their latest album Twenty – released on 28 May – which, as the name helpfully suggest, consists of 20 of the band’s favourite tracks from their 5 previous albums.
