where in Australia to visit first?

HI,

i am wondering where should i visit first? I am going for 12 months on a WHV with a friend who is also 21. We are willing to do any work, and want somewhere where it isn’t too exspensive to live whilst there. We will be moving around Oz, but just don’t know where to start off! This is our first travelling experience, we will be taking about £5500 each to get us on our feet. We want somewhere with great people, great nightlife, and jobs for travellers

Please help.
