      HI,

I’m heading to Oz in October on a working/holiday visa. I’m from Canada and on australia.gov.au it says you need to show customs a bank statement proving that you have $5000 when you enter Australia. I’ve talked to about 5 people who have said they didn’t get asked to show their bank statement, and one person I talked to said they did ask for her bank statement. How many of you got checked? The reason I’m asking is because I don’t think I’ll have 5 grand by October so I’m kind of worried.

      please help

I did not find the right solution from the internet.

      Hi there,

There shouldn’t be any problem getting a Working Holiday Visa if you’re between 18 and 30. And it’s dead easy to apply online but make sure you apply in good time; according to their site 75% of applications are processed within 15 days and 90% within 44 days~but that means 10% aren’t!

      https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/417-

It will cost from 440 AU$ and remember to make sure your passport is valid for your entire stay plus any time you will be travelling home. Some countries are picky about the length of time remaining on your passport.

      Hope this helps.
